What are Site Templates?

Site templates are pre-configured site shells from which new sites may be created.

Site Template Features

  • Streamline the site creation process,
  • Include pre-selected tools and content,
  • Standardize the presentation of content and activities for site participants and,
  • Support both course and collaboration site types.

When selecting the option to create your site from a template using Site Builder, you will see the available templates and a brief description of each one.

UVA departments and schools may consult with the UVACollab team to request a site template with specific features, naming conventions, and content to standardize sites for their courses.
