How do I upload a file to multiple File Drop folders?

An Instructor can upload copies of the same file to multiple students' File Drop folders simultaneously.  Similarly, a collaboration site's Owner or Administrator can upload copies of the same file to multiple site members' File Drop folders.

Go to File Drop.

Select File Drop from the tool menu in your site.

Select Upload files to multiple File Drop folders.

Select the file.

  1. Select the Choose File or Browse... button, depending on your web browser, to browse for and select the file from your local computer.
  2. Optionally, you may type a Display Name of your file if you would like it to be different than the file name.

Select the destination folders for your file.

You will see a list of the student/member folders in your site File Drop. Select the student/member name, group, or roster from the list of Available users on the left and use the right arrow button (>) to move the name/group over to the Selected users on the right.

You can select multiple names or groups at once by holding down the Control (CTRL) (Command on a Mac) or SHIFT key on your keyboard and choosing the names/groups to select. Hold the SHIFT key to select several names/groups that appear consecutively in the list. Hold the CTRL (Command on a Mac) key to select multiple individual names/groups.

Email notification (Optional).

In a course site, if you want students to be notified about the file upload, select the box next to Send an email notification to the student.  To notify members in a collaboration site, the option is Send an email notification to the user.

Select Continue.
